Association Meeting Minutes
April 5, 2010
The meeting was called to
order at 7:15 by Rose Marie Eash. Margo Shallcross made a motion to nominate current Board members,
whose terms are expiring, in addition to adding Connie Burkhardt
and Patty Lairakos to the list of nominees. Notices will be sent out to the membership at
large, to notify them that nominations are open for Board Member positions. Ballots will go out May 19th.
Minutes were approved as
amended.
Mark Williams reported that
the current membership is as follows:
137 total members: 84 adults, 18
adult 3 year memberships, 3 lifetime memberships and 31 youth members.
Bill Eash gave the Treasurer’s
Report .
Sherri Youngblood was out,
but had let the Board know that the youth had been working on their fundraiser
to be held during the Lonestar show.
The club sponsored trail ride
was going on as planned.
Fiesta Show update: It was discussed that the exhibitors party
may be held upstairs in the party room at the Rose Palace, but may possibly be
held downstairs if the weather cooperates.
A possible menu was discussed and any outside food purchase for the
party will have a 20% uplift charge, assessed by the Rose Palace.
Connie Burkhardt
will be setting up the Trail course at the show and is looking for volunteers
to help. Sherry Hoyt will be announcing
and providing the music. Kendall County
Equine will be providing the veterinarian, which will be on call. Don Stine will serve as the official
photographer. In gate volunteers will be
needed.
Old business: The Annual Membership meeting is coming up
and discussion focused on possible dates in June. Linda Cornelius will be checking with Scenic
Loop Café on availability.
The Williams announced that
our former youth member and scholarship recipient, Alex Underwood had become a
finalist on the television show, America’s Next Top Model.
There will be no meeting held
in July.
