Jeanene Pegg-Hundley had advised Bill Eash that she had a sick horse and could
not attend.
The meeting was called to order by President Rose Marie Eash at 7 p.m.
Approval of minutes for the Annual Meeting was postponed pending Rose Marie
documenting the meeting since the past secretary did not attend.
Membership Report: Per AHA – 3 Life Members, 29 Youth, 123Adult Members
Treasurer Bill Eash presented the treasurer’s report and a report on
the Fiesta Show. He announced that the Volunteer Party would be held August
? Bill recommended approval of expenses ($75) submitted for a room for the judge
for the upcoming October Open Show and will send Kathy Struska a check.
There was some discussion of upcoming trail rides and clinics, however, not
action was taken by the board. Bill Eash reported that the Clinics committee
had met and were working on clinics with Kathy and Travis Braden and a Driving
clinic with Francine Dismukes.
Under old business, Margo Shallcross moved that $1250 for delegate expenses
for the AHA Convention be approved for the three AAHA delegates. Bill Eash seconded
the motion and the question passed unanimously.
Rose Marie Eash read a letter from Tara Jackson who had won an AAHA scholarship
when she was in middle school and is now attending Christiandom College in the
Shenendoah Valley in Virginia.
Under new business, the board entertained a request from SASHA asking AAHA
to underwrite the expenses for the Arabian judge for the 2008 SASHA show, help
select the judge and help determine the appropriate classes for the Arabian
division. Margo Shallcross moved that AAHA again underwrite the expenses for
the Arabian judge for the 2008 SASHA show. Liz Williams seconded the motion
and the question passed unanimously. Rose Marie appointed a committee to work
with SASHA to select a judge and determine classes: Chair Margo Shallcross,
Ginny Nokes, Linda Cornelius, and Jeanne Harford.
The next three meeting dates will be Tuesday, September 4 Monday, October 1;
and Monday, November 5.
