Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Guadalupe River State Park, 3350 Park Road 31, Spring Branch, Tx. 78070. Phone: 830-438-2656. Take 281 North, turn left onto Hwy 46 & follow signs to Guadalupe River State Park. $6.00/rider for 13 years & older. Negative Coggins required (original forms only). Helmets/boots required for those under 18 years of age. Water is available but it is preferable to bring your own water/buckets/food for riders & horses. Tail gate party after ride. Be ready to ride at 1:00 p.m. & trail etiquette rules will be reviewed. Please contact Donna Doulton at 830-885-2258 or email ddsstex@aol.com to reserve a spot, questions or clarifications. A head count must be faxed to Guadalupe River State Park Rangers Office a week in advance, so please sign up as soon as possible. Club will provide insurance coverage.

-vet hired for 2 days – still working on rest.
-need volunteers.

-Class List not finalized as yet.

Suggestions for events:

-Saturday night: Military Appreciation

-Meet & Greet

-Amateurs: Owner to trainers – High Point (following rules of new class). Will be on the honor system. Junior to Adult- one horse/one rider. Chandra Burkhardt to work on forms & information. Prize: Bronze trophy donated by Margo Shallcross.

-Libery Champion & Reserve – can be PB 2 years or older, stallion, gelding or mare.

-Centralize Saturday night tables to smaller arena to prevent people from being too far from the center area.

Premium Book – going to press February 15, 2007. Ad rates $100/page. High Point & Liberty Summary ½ page each.

OPEN SHOW: Dian Deal

January 27, 2006 in Sequin, Tx. Mary Bell to work am & Dian Deal to work pm. Need gate people & office people with experience. Will supply breakfast or lunch with drinks to those who sign up to volunteer. Problem in the past was concentration of riders at gate opening – will have “in” & “out” gate with no loitering tolerated.

YOUTH: Jeanne Harford

Last weekend another successful Halter Clinic with Kim Potts- 12 horses.
Next meeting will be at the Freedom Classic as most youth members have volunteered to be there.
Big project: Silent Auction at Spring Show – information to be supplied for Echo deadline February 1, 2007.
Members: 2 new members
Youth are sending 2 delegates to Horse Fest: Rachel Youngblood & Hannah Satori in order for them to acquire more knowledge about Region 9 activities.

BOARD TRAINING: Rose Marie Eash

Unfortunately Honors Hall will be under construction. Several calls outstanding looking for a new location. Meeting date due February 10, 2007.

BLACK STALLION LITERACY PROGRAM: Dian Deal

Will set up meeting of people who are interested in this project.

HORSEFEST:

End of January 2007. Need more auction items … donations so far include: Pat Parelli tickets, 3 lessons from qualified trainer. It is the first delegate meeting of the year.

NEW BUSINESS:

Election of delegates: Bill Eash, Dian Deal, Jeanne Harford & alternatives are Jeanine Pegg-Hundley & Margo Shallcross. If either alternataive delegate is unable to attend then A.C. Rodriguez has been nominated.

PR PLANS:

-Stock Show – motion approved to provide funds for the display to be made by Paul Valdez.
-New this year is presentation of various horse clubs/associations. Will need to have a volunteer who is knowledgeable about the breed & is able to talk to people.
-Military Appreciation Night – suggestions welcome.
- St. Jude’s Home – residential treatment home for children tentative date the Friday night of Fiesta Show.

Received one interested person. Will send out one more notice for interested parties.

Next meeting Monday, February 5, 2007 at Chester’s Hamburger.
