Jeanene Pegg-Hundley had advised Rose Marie Eash that she had a horse emergency and could not attend.

President Rose Marie Eash called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.

Minutes for the Annual Meeting and the August meeting were approved unanimously with Margo moving approval of both, Linda Cornelius seconded the motion on the Annual Meeting minutes and Bill Eash seconded the motion on the August meeting minutes.

Mark Williams provided the Membership Report noting membership levels remained the same except that we were down one youth member, which he is checking on.

Treasurer Bill Eash presented the treasurer’s report citing no unusual expenses or income. The club remains financially stable.
In an abbreviated business meeting, brief reports on the following Old Business were given:

Fiesta Show
Fiesta Show Manager Bill Eash announced some new jackpot class ideas developed at the board workshop for the 2007 Fiesta Show including a Pro Am $500 jackpot class (probably a Hunter Pleasure class, but not definite what division yet) and a $500 Western Pleasure Open jackpot class. AAHA is seeking sponsors for those classes. Bill also said the Fiesta Show would like to include the jackpot Liberty class again this year. A.C. Rodriguez then volunteered to sponsor the Liberty class again and in addition said he would sponsor a Native Costume jackpot class. Chandra Burkhardt volunteered to again sponsor the Amateur Owner Trained and Shown High Point Award.

The jackpot classes will be held Saturday night along with some other classes of special interest to spectators in a short session that will allow more time for the exhibitor party.

SASHA
Margo Shallcross reported that the coordination with the SASHA show is going well with Buck Grass agreeing to judge the Arabian division if AHA approves. The Arabian class list is being finalized and SASHA has offered space for a silent auction fundraiser if the AAHA Youth Club is interested

Open Show
Volunteers were requested for the AAHA Open Show Oct. 20. Those interested in helping with the show were asked to call Marilyn Short.

In order to provide enough time for the program, no New Business was addressed.

Program
Margo Shallcross and Skye Williams presented a program on the 2007 Youth Nationals with a PowerPoint presentation included photos of many AAHA Youth members at the Youth Nationals show and a video of some of the Youth Nationals classes was also shown. Margo provided tips on how judges evaluate a class. Some important tips included the importance of the first impression even though exhibitors are not technically being judged until the in gate is closed and the importance of continuing to show even after a major mistake since sometimes mistakes are forgiven depending on the circumstances and a horse/rider might be considered later if others in the class fail to merit being in the ribbons. A question and answer period followed the presentation.
